Community Assistance Council
Community Assistance Council (CAC) is a Kansas City nonprofit that supports low-income individuals and families experiencing financial hardship and housing instability, primarily in south Kansas City. CAC provides basic needs assistance through a choice food pantry, hygiene items, and diaper distribution in partnership with Happy Bottoms. In addition to immediate support, CAC offers case management through programs like Empower, helping clients address barriers related to employment, education, childcare, and financial stability. They also assist with housing needs through referrals and resource connections. Overall, CAC works to meet urgent needs while empowering individuals and families to achieve long-term stability and self-sufficiency.
