"When a parent makes the courageous decision to leave an abusive situation, their first priority is often the same as any parent's: keeping their children safe. In those first hours and days, a safe place to stay can provide more than shelter. It can offer peace of mind, a chance to catch their breath, and the opportunity to focus on what comes next for their family. Your gift can help local families experiencing domestic violence find safety when they need it most. • $100 can provide one night of emergency lodging for a family escaping domestic violence. • $250 can help cover a safe weekend stay, giving families time to connect with resources, make a plan, and begin building a path forward. Whenever possible, we choose accommodations with amenities such as kitchenettes or complimentary breakfast so families can prepare a simple meal, maintain a sense of normalcy for their children, and stretch limited resources during a time of crisis. For a child, it may mean falling asleep without fear. For a parent, it may mean knowing their family is safe for one more night. For both, it is a chance to begin imagining a brighter future.
